The Rise of Caith
The Salasar Isles
The Salasar Isles are a collection of numerous islands in a particularly harsh patch of sea. In the Salasar Territories, the forces of nature themselves seem to conspire against mortal life. The winds tear at man and his creations, and the sea aims to swallow the bits of land that struggle out of it. The Isles’ numerous Saltpriests dedicate themselves to shielding the Isles from theses forces. Where other priests bless, these can only forestall the waves or lay curses stronger than the winds. Due to its isolation, its hostile environment, and its lack of resources, the Salasar Isles developed as an independent nation primarily because no other nation felt the need to conquer or absorb it.
The capital island, Worhoc, lies at the southeast of the territory, so that it may have easy access to the costs of Caith and Antenora. It is home to Castle Greycourt where King Falon once ruled. The king was recently killed by his brother Eurole, who had previously been exiled for unnamed “crimes against the royal family.” Eurole came to power with the support of a new order of Saltpriests rumored to have allied themselves with a fanatical cult.
